Newcastle United’s injury update ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against West Ham United.
Newcastle United are expecting a triple injury boost when they welcome West Ham United to St James’ Park following the international break.

While Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes join their respective nations, the rest of Eddie Howe’s team travels to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

And Howe says he will use the opportunity to get some of his injured players back to full health, as well as prepare for the visit of West Ham, who are three points ahead of United in the Premier League table.

“As always there will be a period of relaxation after a very busy period,” Howe went on to say. “We need to get guys healthy before our next game, and then we’ll focus on analyzing [the Manchester City] game and picking up the pieces.

“We’ll work on, I don’t know what that will be but we’ll look ahead to our next opponent and get some good work in, some fitness work in and come back stronger for it.”

Howe expects to have Tino Livramento, Harvey Barnes, and Kieran Trippier available against West Ham.

Newcastle United - Tino Livramento

Howe explained Livramento’s absence from Saturday’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, saying: “It was a twist of the ankle against Chelsea. We probably knew the day after that he wasn’t going to make it this weekend.

“We don’t think it’s serious, we hope he’ll be back for the next match.”

Barnes (hamstring) and Trippier (calf) have missed the last two away matches against Chelsea and Manchester City. Meanwhile, United will be without Callum Wilson (pectoral muscle) and Nick Pope (dislocated shoulder) until late in the season.
