Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle United’s midfielder, has admitted to being disappointed with his team’s performance this season.
Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has stated that the club’s disappointing follow-up to last season’s top-four finish has left him feeling deflated.

It has been alleged that Newcastle’s great 2022/23 season began a year early, although Eddie Howe denied this only last week. However, the Brazilian international has claimed that it came too soon after so many years in the doldrums.

Bruno, addressing to reporters prior of England’s game against Brazil, stated, “This season we have struggled. I believe we have had numerous issues with injuries and suspensions, but this is part of the process. When I signed with the club, I understood this would happen.

“Things have moved too quickly. We made it to the final during my two years at the club; regrettably, we did not win, but we did it after 20 years, which was huge for the club.”

Bruno is probably Newcastle’s biggest asset and has been linked with Manchester City last week. The player’s contract includes a £100 million release clause.

Bruno was asked how the players felt about the possibility of a major name departing in order for Newcastle to meet PSR and FFP requirements. He said, “I don’t know exactly. I’m not involved with that.

“We never know what may happen, but I am delighted with the club. Of course, I’m upset with our season, but I believe we still have a chance to finish at least seventh in the Europa League or the Conference League.

“But I can’t say much about the club’s workers. I’m not sure what will happen in the future, but I can say that I’m grateful for Newcastle.”
