Newcastle United against Everton: Just days after a thrilling duel between the Magpies and West Ham, St James’ Park hosts another Premier League encounter.

Anthony Gordon believes his squad will be able to win back-to-back games when they visit Everton at St James’ Park tonight. The Magpies enter the game after a thrilling comeback victory over West Ham on Saturday, which reignited their chances of qualifying for European football next season.

Gordon shined against the Hammers, but Rob Jones showed him a late red card for kicking the ball away. Jones red carded the 23-year-old, who came into the game with eight Premier League yellow cards, and he will miss tonight’s match against his former side.

Gordon will miss just the second game in all competitions this season, the other coming at the London Stadium due to suspension. Gordon stated prior of the match against Everton: “Massive game, back-to-back wins will be important.” Obviously, playing for my old club makes me feel happy and in form.

“I don’t want to miss any games, but that was the one I really wanted to play in. I’m confident we’ll win the game anyhow.”

Gordon, along with the majority of his teammates, had a difficult night at Goodison Park in December during the reverse fixture, and they will be eager to avenge that result and heap more misery on their opponents, who haven’t won a Premier League game in 12 attempts, dating back to December 16. The Toffees are presently just three points above the relegation zone and are still facing more punishment from the Premier League for breaking financial regulations.
