Murillo’s transfer from Corinthians to Nottingham Forest has sparked a handful of stories in the Brazilian media this week.

The Timão are apparently attempting to forward the money from the Reds for the trade that occurred last summer.

According to Globo Esporte, Corinthians is in talks with an investment fund to secure the whole cash from a few of sales, including Murilo’s.

Nottingham Forest's Murillo: Maybe I could be better than Beckenbauer!

Nottingham Forest spent €13 million for the defender, with a potential further €3 million in bonuses, yet have yet to pay the full amount, as the deal stated that it would be paid in stages.
Corinthians did the same with Gabriel Moscardo’s sale to PSG, so they believe they can do the same with City Ground.

This isn’t precisely a new topic; last year, the Brazilian press highlighted the club’s desire to anticipate the money from Nottingham Forest.

At the time, it was stated that the Reds would still have to pay instalments in March and December 2024. So this new move may just be for the final payment.

If Nottingham Forest are interested in any Corinthians players, they should look into the Brazilian club’s financial struggles to see if there are any bargains available.
