Dele Alli joined Everton on a free transfer in January 2022, leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
Dele Alli will feature as a guest on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football when Everton face Chelsea this evening (20:00 BST).

Dele has yet to make an appearance for Everton this season as he recovers from injury. The midfielder underwent hip surgery during a loan stay at Besiktas last season, and he had a groin procedure earlier this year.

Dele boldly opened up about his sleeping pill addiction and mental health issues prior to the start of the 2023-24 season, and he is now ready to make his first public appearance since that candid interview with Gary Neville.

Everton boss Sean Dyche revealed last week that the former England international is still ‘getting on with life and recovering’. It’s unclear whether Dele will play for the Blues this season.

However, with Dele out of play against Chelsea, Everton appear to be on track to avoid paying Tottenham a £10 million transfer fee. The 28-year-old joined Everton from Tottenham on January transfer deadline day in 2022. It was an initial free move, but a £10 million clause would be activated once he made 20 appearances.

Dele has played 13 games for Everton. He appeared 11 times in 2021-22 before playing twice last season before going on loan to Besiktas.

After Dyche’s match against Chelsea, the club will have six Premier League matchups left. And, with Dele’s contract expiring in June, Everton appear to be planning to avoid paying Spurs.
