This week marked the unveiling of another early All-America team, and the Notre Dame football squad was strongly represented. Athlon Sports recently announced their latest All-America team.
The Fighting Irish had three players on the way-too-early All-America team, demonstrating their depth of quality. This is despite the fact that outstanding veterans such as Riley Leonard, Xavier Watts, and Howard Cross are leaving.
As expected, running back Jeremiyah Love was the highest Notre Dame football player to make the list. Love concluded his sophomore season with 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. He was the first running back in program history to record a rushing touchdown in each of the regular season games. Love also grabbed 28 catches for 237 yards and two additional touchdowns.

CB Leonard Moore was also nominated to the first team following a strong debut season with the Irish. Moore made his first start in game five, and he did not take over as the full-time starting boundary corner until game seven.
Despite a late start to his freshman season, he finished with 48 tackles, 11 pass breakups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two tackles for loss.
Finally, senior guard Billy Schrauth was named to the second-team offensive line. Schrauth’s 2024 season started well, but he missed four games due to a knee injury. Schrauth played solid offensive line as a guard for the rest of the season, and he’s anticipated to make a significant improvement in 2025.
When the Notre Dame football team begins its 2025 season, it will have a lot of skill, and more and more people are noticing how much.
