In 2026, the Philadelphia Phillies’ offense was among the poorest in Major League Baseball. They have a third-to-last team OPS of.687, and neither Bryce Harper nor Kyle Schwarber nor Brandon Marsh are to blame for their poor performance.

Looking at the entire squad, it is evident that the offense is doing worse than usual due to the difficulties of the right-handed hitters. More specifically, though, Trea Turner’s difficulties are turning into a major issue.

Turner’s 2026 season OPS of.607 is poorer than his standing ovation season OPS of.642, as noted by Destiny Lugardo of Phillies Nation. To solve this issue this summer, Phillies supporters may need to give it another standing ovation.

“The lowest his OPS dipped to in the standing ovation season was .642 on June 4,” Lugardo says. “It’s at .607 right now.”

Turner’s difficulties were a major source of worry during the standing ovation season. Additionally, despite Turner’s difficulties, the Phillies supporters decided to try to support him by giving him a standing ovation.

He turned his season around after receiving the standing ovation, and he has subsequently improved as a player for the Phillies.

By the end of the season, he had a respectable OPS of.778, even in his first season with the Phillies. After that, his OPS was.807 in 2024 and.812 in 2025.

Regretfully, Turner’s situation has deteriorated significantly this year. His 65 OPS+ is almost half of his 121 OPS+ from a year ago, and 607 OPS is an extremely poor score.

Turner has been a huge letdown this season and is currently a major contributor to the team’s poor offensive performance.

Turner’s difficulties are dragging this offense back, so if there was ever a chance for the Phillies fan base to try this standing ovation power, it would be soon. However, another standing ovation might not work.
