If it seemed strange that Kentucky Basketball had no commitments for the class of 2026 before last week, think about this: There were no players from Kentucky participating in this week’s McDonald’s All-American Game.

Tyran Stokes can significantly increase the class of 2026, although it is highly likely that he will attend Kansas.

The Cats are actually setting themselves up for a possibly very strong class in 2027. Seven of the top 14 players presently have offers from the Cats.

Better yet, Obinna Ekezie Jr. and CJ Rosser, the top two players, are featured.

The top-ranked center in the country, Ekezie, recently hosted Mark Pope and Kentucky assistants Mikhail McLean and Cody Fueger at his house.

Ekezie tweeted, “I appreciate Coach Pope, Coach Fueger, and Coach McLean of Kentucky coming by for an in-home visit.” “I’m grateful for the chance and wonderful discussion.

Originally from Lagos, Ekezie has long been a recruitment goal for Kentucky. He received his first offer from the Cats in 2024, and in October 2025, they welcomed him back for a visit during Kentucky’s Exhibition victory over Purdue. At Southeastern Prep, he is partners with CJ Rosser, the top overall recruit, and is ranked No. 2 overall.
