Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones is dissatisfied with how many away games the Addicks have played since he took over and is unable to explain how the fixtures can unfold in such a manner.

Jones took over at the Valley in early February, and his first game was away at Reading, which Charlton lost 2-0.

Charlton have only played three games at home during his tenure, and they were away again on Saturday against Fleetwood Town in a League One encounter that ended 1-1.

Charlton’s next game will be away to Exeter City, and Jones is astounded by how many away games have occurred since he took over as manager.

Given the number of away games, he believes it is difficult to assess where his team stands and is looking forward to a stretch of home games beginning in April.

“I’ve had nine games and I think we’ve had six away and then the next game I think is away, so that will be seven and three [at home]” , Jones explained to the press.

“I just don’t see how that could happen.

“Then we play three home games, so we’ll be able to evaluate it in roughly four games when we’ve had a similar type of game.

“But, given what happened when I arrived and where we were, I am really delighted with our current situation. So we’ve had a positive reaction.”

Charlton’s next three home games are against Stevenage, Barnsley, and Wigan Athletic, and Jones will be eager to put on a show for the fans.

Jones’ men are currently ranked 16th in League One.
