Combo guard signs a contract with the Mizzou men’s basketball team on Friday, coming home to the Show Me State.

A 6-foot-6 guard, joins the Tigers after playing for BYU in 2025–2026, where he led the Cougars to 23 victories and a six-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Davis averaged 8.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while starting 32 games for BYU.

“We’re excited to welcome Kennard home to Missouri,” said Whitten Family Head Coach Dennis Gates. “Kennard brings great experience to our program, both from a high-major starter at BYU and as an all-conference performer in the Missouri Valley Conference. He is a great playmaking guard who can play the one or the two for us and has also proven to be a serious threat from beyond the arc during his college career. He is also an elite on-ball defender and brings more size to our perimeter.”

During the 2025–26 season, Davis finished fourth on BYU’s scoring list, making 53 triples in 32 games (1.7 per game). As the season went on, the junior also developed into his role, averaging 11.3 points over the last nine games while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three-point range.

His season-high 20 points in a Big 12 Tournament victory over West Virginia and his 15 points against No. 1 Arizona, including five triples in each game, were among his highlights.

Before joining the Cougars, Davis, a native of St. Louis, attended Southern Illinois for two seasons. He has amassed 927 points, 340 rebounds, 151 assists, and 98 steals in 94 career games, making 34.1 percent of his 3-point attempts and 43.0 percent of his field goals. In 2024–2025, he averaged 16.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, earning him a spot on the second team of the Missouri Valley Conference.
