Carlos Alcaraz joined Juventus on loan from Southampton in the winter market and has played 175 minutes in four games for the Serie A club. The midfielder has missed the last two league games owing to a hamstring injury and is still on the sidelines.

In January 2023, Southampton signed the Argentine from Racing Club, marking his first move to Europe.

Speaking to Data Racing, which was reported by TNT Sports, the Southampton-owned player expressed his intention to represent Argentina at the Paris Olympics in the summer.

Javier Mascherano’s Argentine U23 team has already qualified for the Olympics. The coach called up the 21-year-old for recent international breaks, and he appeared in both October and November.

Alcaraz now hopes to represent his country in Paris.
“Obviously, I’d prefer Mascherano to call me for the Olympic Games. I will always be there to protect the colors of Argentina. Today’s players are excellent, but I’ll always be waiting for a call from Javier or Scaloni,” he stated.
