Following a defeat, Nottingham Forest players rarely speak out on social media. Following a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham, one of the club’s most undervalued players has broken his silence.

The Reds were unlucky in their latest setback of the 2023/24 season. Chris Wood equaled a Murillo own goal before missing a chance, which brought criticism from Gary Lineker.

Forest did give it his all, though. This was not like last season, when Forest fell by the same scoreline to Tottenham and then rolled over to have their bellies tickled.

Things may have turned out differently if Forest had had a bit more luck. Mark Halsey thinks James Maddison should have gotten a red card for punching Ryan Yates.

Still, this was a performance that should boost Forest’s confidence ahead of two winnable games against Wolves and Everton in the coming weeks.

Now, one player has broken his silence after the weekend, taking to Instagram to offer a message to the club’s fans ahead of next weekend’s big City Ground match.

Neco Williams reacts as Nottingham Forest lose to Tottenham

Williams is one of the most active players on social media. He’s usually the first to speak up, whether the outcome is positive, negative, or neutral, and he’s becoming a fan favorite this season.
The £17 million signing from Liverpool has needed some time to adjust at Forest. He was in and out of the team in 2022/23, but to his credit, he has taken over the role this season.

Following yesterday night’s defeat to Tottenham, Williams took to Instagram to post a six-word message to the club’s fans. He stated: “Positives to take. “On to the next.”

From the Forest’s perspective, it’s time to stop talking. They were excellent in their thumping of Fulham on Tuesday night, and they must maintain that level of performance in the future.

Williams has been Forest’s standout performance this season. He was selected Player of the Month in February and will most likely be voted on again in March.

The 22-year-old has quietly gone about his thing during this season, and long may it continue. He is now keeping out World Cup-winning player Gonzalo Montiel, and he hopes to keep the shirt for the rest of the season.
