A forward for Miami, has a new residence. After just one season with the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-8 Slovakian wing committed to Kansas State, providing the Wildcats with another frontcourt option as first-year coach Casey Alexander pursues an ambitious roster reconstruction.
He averaged 4.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game while playing in 33 games for Miami in 2025–2026, including two starts. He is still eligible to play in the NCAA for two more years.
He scored a season-high 16 points against Southern Miss, recorded a season-high seven assists against ULM, and made a season-high four 3-pointers in victories over Stetson, Southern Miss, and ULM.

Malovec played for Mega Superbet in the ABA League First Division for two seasons prior to coming to Miami. He shot 36.5% from three-point range and averaged 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 2024–2025. In the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers, he averaged 8.7 points and 6.0 rebounds while playing for Slovakia’s senior national team.
After finishing 3-15 in Big 12 play and finishing 12-20 overall, the Wildcats hired Alexander from Belmont on a five-year contract in March. Alexander took up a challenging position in one of the top conferences in the nation, and the first few weeks of his leadership have been devoted to rebuilding the team.
JT Rock, a 7-foot-1 center, Isaiah Abraham, a transfer from Georgetown, and Jaden Schutt, a guard from Virginia Tech, have already joined Kansas State via the portal. Malovec joins Serbian guard Andrej Kostic as the team’s second foreign player.
