No matter what, the Boozer twins never stop winning! The stage never seems too bright for them, even though this is their first and only season of collegiate basketball. They always manage to bunker down and provide their teammates the tools they need to make a difference, even when a game isn’t going their way. Yes, Caleb Foster helped them defeat St. John’s in the Sweet 16, but Duke is moving on!
Kenny Smith, a former student of North Carolina, had this to say about the Boozers following the game.
However, I feel like I should go back and discuss the Boozer children. Since roughly the fifth grade, I’ve been watching them play basketball on an AAU circuit. I can’t think of anything they haven’t triumphed in. These guys have won every basketball event I’ve ever seen, and it’s not just Cameron; they’ve won state titles in high school, AAU, and the summer. It’s an amazing accomplishment.

The number of successful plays the Boozer brothers frequently made together has Smith in a frenzy.
“These players make winning plays and have a winning history. A terrific basketball play is not the same as a great winning play. Additionally, those two players have produced fantastic winning plays.”
“Maybe they have lost five games… ever,” he concluded his remarks about the Duke stars. Both of those people have won a lot. I must start researching the number of games they have lost over the past five years. I believe I only need to use one hand.
It could be your year to win it all when an alumnus of your fiercest rival talks so highly of you.
Since the Boozer children’s fifth-grade AAU days, Kenny has been observing them:
Kenny Smith praises Boozer twins for showing Duke how to win anyway
Cameron and Cayden Boozer both contributed to Duke’s 80-75 victory over Rick Pitino’s St. John’s Storm, which advanced to the Elite Eight that night. Cameron Boozer finished with 10 rebounds, three assists, a block, and 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Cayden Boozer finished with three assists, two rebounds, and seven points on 3-of-7 shooting. They still prevailed even though this was hardly their finest matchup with Duke.
And that could be the winning recipe. The Boozer brothers are adept at winning games even when they aren’t playing at their best. Can you find alternative ways to make an impact when the shots aren’t falling? Carlos Boozer, a parent of a Duke icon, helped establish the standard for what it means to be a successful basketball player. More significantly, it sets the tone for when things do go wrong.
In the end, Duke may have building flaws, but they are a formidable opponent. Before Duke overcame them in the closing minutes, St. John’s gave the Blue Devils everything they had. The Boozers’ consistent, team-first basketball helped keep this thing going all the way to the finish line, even if Foster’s return to the starting lineup was what had everyone excited. Being mature goes a long way.
The Boozer twins are already playing like upperclassmen for Duke, even though no one is a freshman anymore.
